Commonly called as brain fever, is usually seen in pediatric age group or patients with compromised immunity. Diabetics patients or patients on steroids are also prone for CNS infections. Some time post head injury or cranial surgeries patients also present with CNS infections. 
 

Broad spectrum antibiotics are the first line of treatment. Some time surgeries are done for draining pus collections or, removal of implants, or CSF diversion. These patients are managed in intensive care unit and require close monitoring.
